Coral Maker

Dr Taryn Foster is the founder of Coral Maker, a coral reef restoration start-up developing technology to scale reef restoration. Trained as a coral reef scientist, her research focussed on climate change impacts on coral reefs.

A post-doctoral Fulbright Fellowship took her to San Francisco to work with the California Academy of Sciences and software company Autodesk, to begin the R&D into technology-based solutions for scaling restoration. She returned home to Western Australia to found Coral Maker in 2021.

The technologies are now being tested at the Abrolhos Islands and Geraldton, and range from AI driven robotic coral seeding and propagation, to mass production of stone products to scale coral deployment.
