Dr Emily Lester

Marine ecologist, Edith Cowan University

Dr Emily Lester is a marine ecologist whose research seeks to understand how humans are inadvertently changing marine animal behaviour and fundamentally re-structuring marine systems. Recently, Emily was a Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholar with Dr Elizabeth Madin’s lab at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Emily’s background also includes working with Australian Federal and State government research agencies. She is a passionate science communicator and spoke at the 2023 WA World Ocean Day Event.
